Personal wellbeing is the combination of a happy, healthy and desirable life. Reliance is a project that has explored the idea of keeping a balanced wellbeing. This project is focusing on the surface level challenges of personal wellbeing, in particular the way that we cope daily. It aims to help people understand that it is okay to put mental wellbeing in the forefront.
Each individual has their own routines and ways of coping. This photographic series helps these mechanisms to be seen and accepted without judgement. Reliance normalises the ways we cope and displays the coping mechanisms in a non-bias setting.
Everything in moderation is key and although people use good coping strategies, some are very bad in large amounts. It is important to reflect on how you personally keep and well balanced wellbeing. It may be something to adjust and change as your life becomes more and less stressful and unbalanced. When looking at your wellbeing routine it is important to note if there are any coping mechanisms that may actually be hurting rather than helping.

A special thanks to, Helen Mitchell, Shaun Waugh and Dinithi Jayanetti for the design on the title.
